Tacco is run by radio enthusiast Alister Chapman. Alister also enjoys playing airsoft. So it made sense to combine the two interests. Alister is also a Radio Amateur and active with his local Raynet Group (Radio Amateur Emergency Network). Raynet provide emergency communications and radio communications for events such as marathons.

COMMUNICATIONS FOR EVENT ORGANISERS:

For organised events Tacco can provide a range of radio communications services. We can provide up to 50 digital walkie talkies that offer reliable communications for event organisers using digital encryption. This offers an extremely high degree of privacy that is particularly useful if you ever need to pass details of casualties at accidents or any other information that you would rather no one else hears. These radios have a range of up to 8 miles/10 Km, in practice providing reliable communications up to a couple of miles depending on the location and terrain. If you need to cover a larger area then we can provide a number of repeater stations that can greatly extend the coverage. A single repeater can cover 100 square kilometers.

ASSET OR PERSONNEL TRACKING:

We have a large number of radio based GPS tracking units that range from very small personal radio trackers to larger vehicle mounted trackers. These can be used to monitor the position of people or objects over a wide area, typically up to 5 miles from from the base station. However the range can be greatly extended through the use of repeaters if necessary and ranges in excess of 20 miles are possible. The location of the trackers is stored on a server and can be viewed both at the base station and online. In addition it is possible to use Android phones or tablets with a simple application to act as additional trackers via a 3G/4G internet connection. Most of our trackers also have the ability to connect to a phone or computer via Bluetooth to show the location of any other tracker on our network without an internet connection.

RADIO HIRE:

We have a large number of professional secure digital walkie talkies available for hire. These can be hired with our standard programming or for a small extra fee programmed to suite you particular application with things like the call sign, name or locations of each user. Prices for a set of 10 digital radios start at £30 per day, £100 per week, £250 per month for “standard” radios. We also have higher powered and extra rugged radios for a little extra as well as handsets, headsets and other accessories.

Film & TV:

We have a large number of replicas of current issue military radios along with associated equipment such as headsets. We also have a number of military ruggedised laptops as well as military command and control type software. Using this equipment we can replicate many different types of military style HQ or communications centers as well as providing authentic looking radio equipment for cast and characters.
